It's such a lovely feeling to come home to find you have made a sale. Selling something that you have designed and created really makes you feel good. I have sold this lovely bag on Folksy this week.
How do you top that feeling? By coming home to a request for a commissioned piece! So far I have only made one design for the requested commission-however if it is not to the customers taste I shall happily work on another design!
Behind Blue Stripes is myself, designer/maker Claire Louise Finch. Blue Stripes was born in April 2009 when I decided to pick up a second hand Singer sewing machine and try my hand at making some cushions for my little girls' rooms. What a surprise it was to find out I had so much creativity buried deep inside me!
Almost a year on with a new Pfaff machine I have completed 3 City and Guilds courses in Patchwork and Quilting, Machine Embroidery and Soft Furnishings which were fun and enlightening.
I design all of my work myself and do not use commercially produced patterns for any of the items I sell.
